ARMOOD is one of the 4 food places forming part of "Urvan Street Food", right in the heart of Sol It specialises in Turkish charcoal grilled meats (chicken, lamb beef) and kebabs - smells amazing and tastes even better - tender and delicious. A wide range of dishes ranging from durum to Turkish Pizza, carefully prepared in front of you. Great value for money and definitely not your standard kebab
A Hidden Turkish Street Food Gem Near Sol, Madrid If you’re craving something authentic and off the beaten path, this little Turkish street food stand near Sol is a rare find. Tucked away on a narrow street with no seating and no flashy signage, it’s as close to true street food as you’ll get in Madrid. We’d actually walked past on a previous occasion and chatted with the staff about their food — promising to come back when we were hungry. When we finally did, they remembered us. That personal touch, along with their friendly and welcoming attitude, helped set the tone for what turned out to be a good, honest experience. You place your order through what used to be the main entrance — now a glass-fronted display counter showcasing a small but fresh selection of skewers ready for the grill. Just to the right, a large street-facing window offers a clear view into the heart of the operation: a traditional Turkish charcoal grill glowing with red-hot coals and skewers sizzling over the flames. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot one with a sabre-style Turkish handle — a detail that adds flair to the already mouthwatering scene. We ordered a liver skewer. They offer only beef liver — not sheep liver, which we would have preferred — but the flavor was still good. It was served as a Dürüm — a thin, toasted pita roll filled with fresh vegetables and your choice of sauce. We went for all the veg and just their homemade garlic sauce, which turned out to be an aioli. Initially there wasn’t quite enough of it, but when we asked, they kindly gave us a small pot and spoon — just right. We had requested the liver be cooked well, and it certainly was — visibly charred and crispy in places, as you’d expect from a proper charcoal grill. The only thing missing was a touch of salt, and ideally, a few chunks of beef fat in between the liver pieces — as traditionally done — would have gone a long way toward improving flavor and moisture. That said, including those would likely raise costs, and they’re clearly keeping the price competitive with the neighbouring kebab shops. Price-wise, we paid 7 EUR, which is a bit more than the typical 5 EUR kebabs sold nearby. But here, you’re getting proper chunks of meat, not the tightly packed minced beef kebab typical in Madrid. The difference in quality and preparation is clear and helps justify the slightly higher price. The Dürüm was pressed just before serving, giving the pita a lovely crispness. It came wrapped in foil, forming a long, neat roll that was ideal for enjoying right there on the street. While there's no seating or décor to speak of, the atmosphere still delivers — the charcoal grill, street setting, and wafting aromas create a genuinely immersive experience. It’s nothing special like a fancy restaurant — just a simple, no-frills place with good food, lovely staff, fair prices, and a good presentation. For what it is, it rates high in its class.
We were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional quality and flavor of the food. However, it is important for them to enhance their customer service, improve their communication with customers, and enhance their overall hospitality. The place is situated in the center of Madrid, but it requires refurbishment and careful consideration of its aesthetics.
Best place in town, the freshest of food and it's cooked on charcoal which is quite rare, everything on the menu is worth trying
7 euro kebab meal perfectly hits the spot, and open til 6am so perfect during a night out, all sorts of pleasant characters down there, staff are lovely folks.
Great kebabs! A bit hard to find because they have no signs. They have two restaurants - the Foood one is the one you can sit at.
Very delicious grilled meat with good portions for what you pay!! Fast service and friendly people.
